..and her eyes are BLACK

Summer presents herself as the quintessential typey alpaca. Her phenotype is oh, so, what you want to see in any alpaca. Her fiber is true, true black. So dense and crimpy that you want to snuggle up with her. It has a handle that resembles velvet. Summer is bred to Don Juan de Onate, our successful herdsire, who has much the body type as Summer. Should produce a wonderful black or grey cria in June, 2008. CONFORMATION: “Typey” to say the least. No flaws here. FIBER CHARACTERISTICS: Crimp: Deep, even waves from one end of the bundle to the other. Density: Fingers cannot penetrate to the skin in the blanket area. Coverage: Complete. Like she is wearing a velvet robe. Sheen: Glossy very true black. DISPOSITION: Gentle. Handles with ease. Neither an aggressor or a pacifist in the herd. Goes with the flow. HERITAGE: She carries a diversity of bloodlines from Chile, Peru, USA, and – check this out – from Australia! She mirrors the American melting pot. She brings some seldom seen bloodlines that, based upon her phenotype, will add much quality to any herd she impacts. BREEDING STATUS: Summer has been bred to our powerhouse true black male, Don Juan. His history has been a success story for us with many quality offspring on the ground. With the grey in his background as well as in her background, we see a possibility of that surfacing in Summer’s first cria due June, 2008.

Sherbet: Naked and tall!

Service Sire: Tecumseh

Sherbet has been a consistent breeder ever since her breeding days began. We have had from her three beautiful female crias. They sell before they are old enough to give us grandcrias from Sherbet! If you are looking for that tried and true grey female, you need look any further. CONFORMATION: Extremely TYPEY. What you look for in the “perfect” alpaca! FIBER CHARACTERISTICS: Crimp: Consistent from the tip of the fleece right down to the skin. Density: Can’t get much thicker. Coverage: The picture in full fleece tells it all. Sheen: Pretty nice shine for grey. DISPOSITION: Confident demeanor. Proud. Tall in her stance. Handles calmly, obediently and politely! Great mom. HERITAGE: Granddaughter to the well-known Danko. Her mom was color champion in 2001 at the AOBA Nationals. Her paternal grandfather, General Schwarzkoff, was unbeatable in his heyday. BREEDING STATUS: . Sherbet is bred back to our Tecumseh, a solid stately true black male. This match is expected to produce a black or gray cria in June, 2008.

Her Mom

We present an extremely nice young female here. She is right on with her presence, always alert and proud. She is a sassy little girl. CONFORMATION: Very straight legs, neck, body. Always standing tall with ears up. FIBER CHARACTERISTICS: TOOK 1ST PLACE & COLOR CHAMPION @ SURI NETWORK FLEECE SHOW Locks: Tight pencil locks draping on all parts of her body. Density: Moderate density. Coverage: Fiber all over. Legs have nice coverage. Very pretty head. Luster: Shines like patent leather. After her first shearing the true color coming through underneath is more bay black than true black. Rich deep chocolate black best describes it! Simply gorgeous. Samples available on request. DISPOSITION: Cautious. Frisky. Walks on a lead like a pro. Has spent some time at elementary school “Show and Tell.” HERITAGE: An international girl with some Chilean, Bolivian, and Peruvian lineage. Makes her a true “American.” BREEDING STATUS: Too young to breed. Should be ready to breed come late fall or early spring.

Luster: She has it. Shines like strands of gold amongst the auburn fleece. DISPOSITION: As sweet as she is beautiful. Doing well on the halter training. HERITAGE: Mom has lots of Bolivian blood. Dad brings in the Peruvian. She has no prejudice either way. She is actually “all American.” BREEDING STATUS: Elle will be ready to breed in Spring, 2008.
